Incident Management
Track, manage, and communicate incidents from detection to resolution.
Automatic incident creation
When a monitor detects a failure, UptimeGuard automatically creates an incident. The incident is linked to the affected monitor and triggers alerts to the configured channels.
Incident statuses
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Investigating | Initial state when the incident is detected. |
| Identified | The root cause has been identified. |
| Monitoring | A fix has been applied and is being monitored. |
| Resolved | The incident is fully resolved. |
Incident updates
Add updates to an incident as you investigate and resolve it. Each update records the new status, a message, and a timestamp. Updates are visible on your status pages so your users stay informed.
Auto-resolution
When the monitor that triggered the incident starts succeeding again, UptimeGuard automatically resolves the incident and sends a recovery notification.
Incident metrics
The Reports section shows incident analytics including:
- MTTD — Mean Time to Detect
- MTTR — Mean Time to Resolve
- Incident frequency — weekly incident count chart
- Downtime duration — total downtime per incident
